The Office of Statewide Pretrial Services’ (OSPS or Office) is a statewide office that provides pretrial services under the Pretrial Services Act, 725 ILCS 185. The Office’s mission is to assist in the administration of justice and promote community safety by ensuring fairness and equality in the pretrial process. OSPS prepares pretrial investigation reports for the courts and supervises individuals released from custody as directed by the court.
Current Available Shift:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Assists in building maintenance and a preventive maintenance program involving electrical, ventilating, air conditioning, security, and carpentry with landlords.
- Performs routine, preventive and ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting involving electrical, ventilating, air conditioning, security, and carpentry needs at facilities as directed.
- Assists with the implementation of both short-term and long range building maintenance plans and helps monitor and modify plans as needed.
- Issues and removes building access, including key issuance and electronic access, in accordance with established procedures.
- Assists with logistical and facility questions and responds to inquiries/requests.
- Conducts regular evacuation and severe weather drills and keeps current inspections for elevators, fire alarms and sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and smoke and heat detection devices located in buildings.
- Provides guidance, training, and operational support to lower-level staff responsible for facilities, logistics, and fleet management activities, and assists with resolving routine issues and ensuring work is completed.
- Assists staff in identifying facility needs and requirements, including coordination and scheduling of furniture relocations.
- Loads and unloads office supplies and small furniture and equipment.
- Delivers furniture, office, drug testing and electronic monitoring supplies statewide as needed.
- Participates in meetings with vendors and property owners to discuss and formulate equipment configurations, facility needs, and lease requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Ability to be LEADS (Law Enforcement Agencies Data System) certified.
- Five or more years of facilities and logistics management or equivalent experience.
- Eight years of progressively responsible experience in state or local government or business administration.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and demonstrate proof of automobile insurance to operate a personal vehicle on state business, as well as maintain a safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Facilities Management or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Ten years of progressively responsible experience in state or local government or business administration.
- Five or more years of facilities and logistics management or equivalent experience.
- Experience with specialized computer applications (i.e. security and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems).

- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and maintain a variety of functions and projects simultaneously and meet required deadlines and schedules.

- Demonstrated leadership skills including planning and priority setting, sound decision-making, problem-solving, and analytic and interpretive skills
- Ability to work independently to identify and provide recommendations to resolve facilities-related issues.
- Ability to pivot and adapt effectively when unexpected issues arise.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended time periods.
- Professional office working environment requiring telephone usage and ability to process written documents.
- Ability to lift at least 100 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull at least 100 pounds.
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays, as required.
